CHELSEA CHASE HIGUAIN

May 1st, 2012 by admin

According to reports, English Premier League team Chelsea is hatching a plan for a huge squad redevelopment for the next season and they are prepared to pay £70million on 3 footballers so that they can challenge the Premier League title in the next season.

Topping on Chelsea’s wish list is the Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain. The London club wants to buy him in the place of Didier Drogba. It seems that Real Madrid will be interested to sell Higuain as Real coach Jose Mourinho wants Sergio Aguero in his team for the next La Liga season. Therefore, it is quite possible to see Higuain for the London club.

Sources say that Higuain is on the top of Chelsea’s list as he is a brilliant goal scorer as well as for Argentina and he also helps in creating goal scoring moves. The club believes that he is a kind of player who would flourish in the Premier League. This season, Gonzalo Higuain scored twenty-five goals in fifty-one games and helped in 8 goals.

Few other players may also play alongside Higuain in the next season. Blues are also planning to Ross Barkley and Marouane Fellaini. He started his career with River Plate before joining Real Madrid in 2006 – 2007 seasons. The Spanish club signed him for €13 million after the Argentine club declined their €10 million offer. In 2009 – 2010 La Lige season, he became Real Madrid’s top goal-scorer with twenty-seven league goals.

TARDELLI: INTER NEED HIGUAIN

April 4th, 2012 by admin

Former Juventus midfielder Marco Tardelli has said that Juventus need a player like Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain in order to return to the top of the tree. Juventus have been on the road to come back in the last few seasons. This season has been probably the first where Juventus have looked like their old self. However, Marco Tardelli is of the opinion that Juventus need a number of good players in order to be more competitive in the European matches. Juventus are currently second in the Italian Serie A table with only a few points separating them from leaders AC Milan.

Gonzalo Higuain has been out of favour at Real Madrid for the past few months now. Hence, there has been a lot of rumours linking him with clubs like Manchester city and Chelsea over the last few months. Tardelli thinks that Juventus should be more focused on getting the Argentine, who is well-known for getting goals on a regular basis. However, due to the presence of players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, he has been unable to get a look in at Real Madrid. Tardelli also thinks that Juventus need three more signings of the same quality in order to return to their former glory.

“It would take them three more signings in order to make that final leap in quality. And a striker of international class, someone like Higuain, would be very useful. Additionally, they need another midfielder of the highest level, and a good back-up for Pirlo. Andrea will need to be rested occasionally for the Champions League next year,” Tardelli said in an interview given to the Italian tabloid La Gazzetta dello Sport. After their three consecutive draws in the league, Juventus are four points behind AC Milan in the table.

HIGUAIN HAS WINNING FEELING

February 23rd, 2012 by admin

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has said that he feels that the Spanish la Liga is currently in the hands of Real Madrid. The capital club have built a 10 point advantage over second placed Barcelona in the Spanish la Liga. It has been three years since Real Madrid won the title, but Gonzalo Higuain has said that Real Madrid are very close to bring an end to the dominance of Barcelona in the domestic league. One of the interesting aspects about the Spanish league this season is the fact that Real Madrid are very much similar in terms of the points tally to last season, but it is Barcelona who have slipped off from their prima donna position.

Karim Benzema also said that Real Madrid now have a commanding lead in the Spanish la Liga. The club can win the title this season even with a defeat at the hands of Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Barcelona were still be confident with the fact that they will face Real Madrid one more time this season in the league, but both Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain are of the opinion that Real Madrid can seal the title even with a defeat at the Camp Nou.

“We are happy because we have been on an upward line. The truth is we don’t think we are there yet, but there is much more. La Liga is in our hands, but we have to keep working,” Higuain told Marca. “We played a great game, but now we must continue. The difference in points with Barcelona is great, but we still have to keep fighting because there’s a long way to go,” Karim Benzema said after the match with Levante. Real Madrid also have to concentrate on the Champions league encounter with CSKA Moscow.

HIGUAIN: JOSE IS THE BET

January 23rd, 2012 by admin

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has said that Real Madrid coach José Mourinho is by far the best manager he has come across in his career. Gonzalo Higuain has come out with this statement, despite the fact that he is not a regular starter for Real Madrid.

José Mourinho has been using French striker Karim Benzema for most of the matches this season. Still, Gonzalo Higuain has said that he finds José Mourinho to be a great motivator and someone who brings out the best from the players at all times. Real Madrid have been overshadowed by the exploits of Barcelona in recent seasons, but they have been extremely brilliant.

Real Madrid currently have a five-point advantage over Barcelona in the league, and they are certainly the favourites to lift the first title since 2007. The Argentine Higuain has come out in praise of the Portuguese coach after the 2-1 win over Mallorca on Saturday. Their victory meant that they kept the five-point advantage at the top of the table. Now, they can relax and watch Barcelona play their game in hand, which would give them the opportunity to close down the gap further. Real Madrid were in danger of losing the match at half-time, but the brilliance of José Mourinho showed at this stage according to Higuain.

“What the coach tells us in the dressing room stays there. Mourinho is a natural motivator and it shows on the pitch. We gave our all after half-time due to things turning out badly for us in the first half. Thank God we managed to win. We knew the match would be complicated and that we would face a Mallorca side different to last year’s,” Higuain was quoted as saying on the official website of Real Madrid.
